2nd Grade: Veterans Day Flags

 Thank you to our Veterans! The second graders learned about what a Veteran is and how we honor them on November 11th, Veterans Day. To show our appreciation to Veterans, the second graders made American Flags. We first looked at a painting of the American flag made by the artist Jasper John. Second grade painted their American flag on top of newspaper, just like Jasper John.

The flags were then displayed in the entry of the school for any visiting Veterans to see. When the students finished making their flags they also had time to write thank you letters. The letters were then mailed to local veterans.
