1st Grade: Santa Clause Portraits

The week before winter break and all the students (and teachers) want to think about is Christmas and break! These Santa Portraits were a great way to get excited for the holiday. They were also great for practicing following directions, when we did a guided drawing as I showed them step by step how to draw Santa's Portrait. What I love about children work is that even step by step the Santas end up wonderfully different. The students worked with oil pastels to color which you can see from some of the photos tends to get a little messy.
