These adorable gingerbread houses were created by second grade. Thinking about the basics of a gingerbread house is s great way to begin thinking about architecture. What does your house need? Doors? Windows? The students learned what scalloped lines are to create the look of roof shingles. We colored pieces and decorations for the houses and then glued them to a brown paper bag that could either stand alone as a house or be used later for a gift bag! I also can't help the fact that I love Glitter! so I added the glue to look like icicles and the students went to town adding the glitter on top.
A wonderful little wreath added to the door. Nice touch!
A baby gingerbread added to the window.
I love the gum drop smoke coming from the chimney on this one!
