The portraits of Amedeo Modigliani are a bit strange to look at, which is probably why people were not fond of them when he first began to paint them. Over time they have become accepted and some people find them quite interesting. The figures have these elongated necks and faces, and slouchy shoulders. Using the Modigliani style, fourth grade created their own self portraits. We first looked at what the proportions of a face should be, and then what Modigliani did.
