8th Grade: Low Relief Sculptures

8th grade learned about low relief sculptures. A relief sculpture means that the sculpture is mostly really view form one side, rather than a sculpture you view "in the round". A low relief means it only pops out only a little at you. An example of a low relief sculpture would be a coin.
For our low relief sculptures we used cardboard and created different landscapes. Students were required to have at least four layers. They could incorporate whatever other materials they would like.
