K-4th Grade: Butterflies

With Kindergarten- 4th grade, we took a look at this quote and discussed  what we thought it meant. Our kinders took it very literal and guessed anything that had wings while many of the other students nailed it! We talked about how we will never know our full potential or what are capable o until we try. I applied this to both my classroom, to not feel intimidated by a project, as well as other aspects of life.
I wanted to decorate a bulletin board with this quote but asked to students to help me. They created butterflies to go along side the quote. Students decorated their butterfly however they desired.
