7th Grade: Dia De Los Muertos
Dia De Los Muertos ( Also known as Day of The Dead) is a Mexican holiday as a time when people believe their deceased ancestors can come back to visit. The holiday begins on October 31st and ends on November 2nd. To celebrate the holiday, family members decorate to graves of their loved ones with pictures and gifts. Sugar skulls are one of these decorations. They are colorfully decorated skulls. Traditionally they are made from real sugar.
7th grade used a thin sheet of gold metal to emboss (carve) the details of their sugar skulls. They then used colored sharpies to color.
